The following Canvas training events are scheduled. Each is open to all BYU faculty, as well as TAs and student counselors / observers.

Upcoming Sessions
Beginning Canvas Part 1
New to Canvas? This is where to start. During this one-hour training, you'll learn about getting around in Canvas, how courses and sections work (and how they work with BYU's AIM registration system), and how to configure your courses and create content in them. We will also focus on setting-up Canvas assignments to work well for you.

Beginning Canvas Part 2
Continuing on what you learn in Part 1: We'll cover Modules, using the SpeedGrader, and grading in Canvas. We'll also review groups, quizzes, Canvas Commons, and copying courses and course content ... plus some best practices to get you started on the right foot.

Advanced Canvas
For teachers who already have some Canvas know-how, this class will go deeper into some of Canvas' more powerful tools: We'll talk more about LTIs, and Canvas Collaborations. We'll introduce you to Canvas Outcomes, and show you some clever 'Canvas hacks' ... lesser-known ways of doing cool things in your Canvas courses.

Canvas Workshop
This is a catch-up and collaboration for faculty who are already proficient in Canvas, as well as those who are new. We'll review what is new in Canvas since the last school year, including bulk assignment editing and New Analytics. We'll also have time for questions and answers with the BYU Canvas team. Finally, the cool part: We'll have a Show and Tell where you, our BYU Faculty and Staff, can share your own ideas and examples of clever Canvas work. We'll also leave time for discussion and collaboration, where you can 'talk shop' with your BYU colleagues about how to be successful with Canvas.
