Description
This special format is designed for teachers and teacher assistants who missed summer training ... especially new hires, or those just jumping into work from Summer break ... and who wish to use Canvas for the first time for Fall Semester of 2021. It has fewer, longer class sessions (2, instead of 4), and will focus on the basics of getting set-up quickly and mastering basic course management. Instruction and activities will be designed to get you ready to hit the ground running with your students in Canvas on the first day of classes, and prepare you to continue building-out your LMS course materials as you progress through the semester.
Topics / activities
- Canvas account and course setup
- Communication with students / Pre-class welcome message
- Content building for first week / unit of class
- Importing / migrating existing content
- Modules, and progressive content building and management
- Getting resources and information
- All the other content in Beginning Canvas, standard format
This is a hands-on training: Please come ready with your Canvas course(s) provisioned and ready to configure. To do this, please view Selecting Canvas As Your LMS, and follow the instructions provided.
