Learning outcomes are (or should be) one of your first answers when a student asks, “Why am I taking this course?” Learning outcomes should also drive the organization of your course. This workshop will help you revise or create learning outcomes that help put the “why” into your teaching.

To learn well, students need time to process what they are learning. This training provides you with tools to prepare your students before live interaction; to provide a space for students to meaningfully process the information while you are together; and activities after the lecture is over.

If you are teaching live remote classes on Zoom (or some other video conferencing tool), it can be challenging to keep students focused and engaged. This training provides some simple principles, strategies and tools that can help you engage students, build community, and enhance learning.

CORE—Care for students; Organization; Relevance; and Evaluation and Assessment—are the four core principles of effective (online) teaching. This training provides examples of how to put these principles into practice and spark ideas for you and your class. We also help you target tools and training you need to make it happen.
